BLOG BLITZ ~ The Bad Boy Billionaire: What a Girl Wants by Maya Rodale

Title:  The Bad Boy Billionaire: What a Girl Wants
Author- Maya Rodale

The third installment of a sexy, whirlwind romance about a modern day heroine writing historical romance novels based on her romantic misadventures with the bad boy billionaire.

Jane Sparks had it all…almost.

Everyone knew that Jane Sparks had been dumped by her high school sweetheart and fired from her job, which is why she was really looking forward to attending her high school reunion as a successful romance novelist with her hot billionaire boyfriend as her date. But a violent encounter with her ex-boyfriend changed everything.

Duke Austen was the luckiest guy in town…almost

Duke Austen is a blue-eyed charmer with a bad boy reputation and ambitious plans for his future-after two failed startups, this tech entrepreneur is about to celebrate the $20 billion IPO of his company-but it no longer matters when the woman he loves has been hurt. Stranded in his apartment during a hurricane without powerless, they must rebuild their trust…and fall in love all over again.
Just when they have it all figured out, Jane and Duke are forced to decide what matters more: facing her past or celebrating his successful future.

Christina's Review:
I could not put these books down. I am not a novella fan by any means, but I read one to the next! Duke has so much to prove, to himself and the people he has failed in the past. He no longer wants to be the bad boy failure, but the successful man he is meant to be. He meets Jane by luck if you ask me, and one funny coincidence leads to the next and they find themselves in a predicament and the lies pile up. I laughed and I got upset, but I fell in love with these characters and cannot wait for more!! Their story was interesting to say the least, but it was an entertaining one and it was hard not to fall in love with these two!

Jake Oliver, a typical guy, never expected to fall in love with his best friend’s girl. Jake learned to love her from a far, he watched her constantly and supported her endlessly.
Trish Wilson thought she found the love of her life in Dylan, until tragedy struck and fate decided for her when Dylan died in Afghanistan. Will she survive and get over her fear to love again? Will she find her one? Will her heart ever truly heal?

The tragedy that caused them great sadness also brought them together. Jake’s love for Trish gave her the strength to overcome her fear to love again, while Trish’s love pushed Jake past his guilt. However, when your soul mate’s life is at stake, will they fold in fear or stand their ground? Will they fight to live or prepare to give up? Will they allow fear to break them or will they let love make them UNBREAKABLE.

“Though one may be overpowered by another, two can withstand him.
And a threefold cord is not quickly broken.” Ecclesiastes 4:12

Christina's Review:

Jake and Trish!! LOVED them! What more can I say? Trish lost her fiance in war, and Jake his best friend was there to pick up the pieces. He spent so much time watching Trish from the sidelines and finally had his chance to have the woman that was meant to be his.

Life doesn't work out the way we have planned. EVER. When we finally find things aligning perfectly, there is always a curve ball. Jake and Trish are thrown when Jake gets news that will change their lives and test their love. Trish has lost so much in her life, yet she feeds off of the love and strength that Jake gives her and straps on her big girl panties. My eyes were wet for most of this story. The love and friendships and hard times this crew went through tore my heart apart and mended it back together. I felt like I was a part of their story and I felt every emotion they all experienced. I really loved the concept and storyline!

I have one complaint with this book that kept me from giving it a 5 star rating. At times it was all over the place. Characters or past relationships would be mentioned, but it wasn't built upon. Sometimes I was confused if i missed something and thought maybe I was reading a book in a series and missed the previous story. It just felt like things were missing and parts were random and I had to figure things out on my own. Not a big deal though, because the storyline itself made sense. I could tell this story came from the author's personal experience, and honestly there is no better therapy or story than sharing your experiences, tragedies, and triumphs with the world. For that reason I gave this book 4 stars, and I am really looking forward to book two! This cliffhanger is going to drive me nuts, I am not going to lie!! :)

“Trish, aren’t you going to sit down?  Sorry, you can’t get close to our boy, here,” Cody goads me, slapping Jake’s shoulder.
“That’s okay, Cody. I don’t have to be close to him to get a hard reaction.”  Putting emphasis on ‘hard’ as I smirk at him.
Without warning, the three boys take their shirts off, and I just about pass out. Well, Tami and Roxy included.  I blank out for a while, not knowing what to do next.  Damn, I didn’t think of this.  Jake is now shirtless in front of me, my traitorous eyes instantly roam to his chest, hard abs, broad shoulders and back to his chest.  Holy crap!
“Cat got your tongues, ladies?” Cody chuckles.
Oh no, no cat’s got my tongue! I’m thinking more like my warm tongue wrapping around his hard pulsing dick! Shit! I hate giving head, but my crazed-self strikes again! Best idea…ever!
Jake never makes eye contact, in fact, he’s busy eating his food and talking to Brian about some shit I can’t even understand, because at the moment, my mind is not working properly.  Roxy gives me that you-better-do-something look, and that’s all it takes for me to go into action mode.
Roxy stands up and tells me to sit down right in front of Jake, while she takes the seat next to me. This is perfect for what I have in mind.  I show Roxy the banana I’m holding under the table, and she gives me a small nod and smile.  I start peeling the banana, even before she gives me my signal to start Operation Payback.  Right on cue, she gives me the opening I need.
“Trish, you’re not going to eat?” She asks innocently.
“Nah, I don’t feel too well,” I say.
Jake looks at me with concern in his eyes, and what perfect timing. He falls for it, hook, line and sucker! I put the banana very slowly in my mouth, pushing it as far as I could and pulling it out ever so slowly, biting the tip off.  I’m looking at Jake the whole time; his reaction is priceless. It takes everything in me, not to laugh.  Even the boys are silent; Cody is speechless for a change.  Three point shot right here…bam!
“What’s wrong boys, cat got your tongues?” Roxy hollers.
“Trish, put the banana down!” Jake exclaims.
“I want to eat it! What’s wrong with you? Do you want it?” I ask arching my brow.
“Jake, pull your pants down, man! She’s playing dirty! Show her the power drill!” Cody says, trying to coax Jake.
He ignores Cody, since he and I are in a stare down duel, his slightly narrowed eyes locks on mine and his jaw is twitching.  I now have in front of me, a very frustrated Jake, who in my estimation is ready to blow a gasket anytime.

I’m a middle child, and no, I don’t suffer from the middle child syndrome. According to my parents, I’m the craziest, and I think, my husband and children agree with them.

Besides the births of my two children, my husband’s successful transplant is one of the most memorable moments of my crazy life! After dealing with two bouts of cancer, my husband served as an inspiration to me and my children. I’m privileged to be married and go on this crazy ride, we call life, with a man who doesn’t know the meaning of giving up.

I’m known as The Crazy Cat Lady, in the Wanted World. Am I crazy? Well, the jury is still out on that one, but I’d like to think I can make one person smile with my craziness.

COVER REVEAL ♥ Polliannah Got Married! ♥

Polliannah Got Married! Cover
Title: Polliannah Got Married! (Sémya Slotin Mystery, #3)
Author: Danielle - Claude Ngontang Mba
Release Date: June 16, 2014
Series: Sémya Slotin Mystery series
Genre: Romantic suspense/ international thriller

The truth this time, and nothing but the truth…

Polliannah Koch Guryev is in trouble and her boyfriend is dead.

It's not the first time amateur sleuth Sémya Slotin finds herself on the first plane to rescue her best friend, but nothing's prepared her for what she finds in Toronto. Polliannah is a widow and her late husband John Allen was a hit man for the powerful Dovos family. What did they want from her? Why is this happening? One thing they do know: their carefree life back in London is officially over.

Sémya’s long-time boyfriend Josh Heinz knows more than he lets on, but as usual he’s not telling her anything. In fact, everyone knows more, but nobody’s talking. But that never stops Sémya Slotin, Detective Extraordinaire, from finding out the truth beneath the lies…

But at what cost? Old conspiracies and secrets resurface that put them all in peril. Sémya’s worst fears about her relationship with Josh and his past are confirmed, and the rift between them may never heal.

Sémya and Polliannah’s world is falling apart. Will they be able to come out of this stronger?

Oh, and did I mention that Polliannah got married?
Note: This book is part of the series and is not a complete standalone. However, it could be enjoyed without reading Bird of Prey and The Plot Thickens first.
Sémya stretched out her body long enough to get Josh’s attention. “Don’t you even think about it…” she said when she noticed his eyes glittering. “Thank you for the business class seats, very private.” He caressed her cheek and leaned down, “That was the whole point.” The third seat next to their pod was empty. “It feels like we’re alone here.” She stopped him only mere inches from her mouth. No distraction, even if this one was the sexiest of them all. She got distracted with the Cartier case and she didn’t pay enough attention to Polliannah and her mysterious John. She should have insisted on meeting him, a photo or even a fucking last name! Now she was on her way to Canada again after some many years. She should be packing for Cuba! A well-deserved vacation for the three of them, it would have been their reward for closing that Cartier case. “We need to talk, Heinz.” He looked at her, but said nothing. “Are you in any ways linked to this case?” He’s going to lie to me “I don’t know, Sémya. I honestly don’t know,” he told her. “Okay, let’s rewind. Does this have anything to do with your reason for being in London?” she asked then. “Sémya…” he started to say. “Don’t Sémya me! You’re obviously one bad bodyguard if you couldn’t catch the fact that Polli and I had a stalker for more than two months,” she told him. She saw the anger flashing through his eye. Well, he did let her down! She had secretly always thought that he was this man who had been there to protect her from… herself and the big bad world even though she didn’t need it. “Are you done, Slotin?” he said. “Not by a long shot if you have anything to do with all this,” she said and picked her laptop and the file Ally gave her. She made sure that the other file stayed hidden. “I’m not your bodyguard, Sémya. I never was,” he told her. “Whatever you say, Heinz,” she mumbled back. She opened her John Smith file and added what she knew about him. John Allen, Irish or Northern Irish, works for the Dovos family. She didn’t know a lot about the Dovos family, but she knew enough to discern that if they wanted Dmitri Guryev it wasn’t a good thing. She kept typing in silence for another hour, sending a few side-glances to Josh from time to time. He was reading… a book without a care in the world. “I think he targeted her because she was the single one,” she told him and closed her laptop. Polliannah was the one with the answers, all she could do now was try to relax and get some sleep. Another glass of champagne would be nice right now. “I rarely come to the store. How would he know?” he asked her, closing his book. “I bitch about you all the time to Manuel. That lad deserves a raise for all the things he’s heard his bosses say,” she told him. “I see…” Josh said. He took her by the chin, “He approached her the day you went to Paris, Sémya.” Polliannah told her about John the night she came back from visiting her mother in Paris. It was supposed to have been an easy case of stolen sketches from one fashion house to another, but it became the Johanna Cartier’s murder. “He kept taking her to her favourite restaurants and plays.” She grabbed his hand and squeezed it, “I do love the way you think, Heinz.” She really did… He kissed her, “We’ll talk after we land, I promise.” He slowly ran his hand through her hair. Sémya tried to think about all her new rules about distraction, “Come here…” “But how about Sergey? We didn’t discuss it in the store at all,” she moaned, pushing him away a little. They went to Maska for information on the Cartier case. Gary Finch, Johanna’s accomplice, was living in London under an assumed name and Maska was the place in London for fake papers. The truth was that they were completely isolated with a lot of free time until they landed in a few hours.

BLOG TOUR ~ LEVERAGE by Nancy S. Thompson

Four years ago, Tyler Karras’ quest to avenge his wife's death led to all out war with San Francisco's Russian Mafia. With the Bratva’s collapse and its king, Dmitri Chernov, long dead, all Ty wants now is to put it behind him and enjoy a second chance at life with his new bride, Hannah, and the child they're expecting any day. But Chernov's heir, Grigory Dmitriev, has returned, bitter and determined. He wants his kingdom back, and he's more than willing to leverage Ty's new family to get it.

First he targets Conner, Ty’s brooding nineteen-year-old stepson, manipulating the boy into a vortex of sex, drugs, alcohol, and gambling. Then he turns his sights on Hannah. At eight months pregnant, she’s the ultimate bargaining chip. With both their lives in jeopardy, as well as his unborn child, Ty has little choice but to do as Grigory commands—even if that means assassinating the new leadership resurrecting within the Bratva.

But Tyler swore he'd never kill again. He buried that monster four years ago and means to keep it that way. Grigory, however, makes that vow impossible to keep.

With his new family on the line, Ty will cross further into the dark side than he ever has before, challenging everything he believes about himself, and forcing him to face the ghosts of his past. Only then will Ty discover if he has the strength to do the unspeakable, to sacrifice his last chance at redemption and save the lives of those he loves most.

I stood there, motionless, unsure, and let my eyes flutter shut. God, how many times had I imagined this? I never allowed my mind to go much further, because I knew she could never be mine, and I never wanted to harbor any resentment toward my best friend for possessing something I coveted. But Leo was gone now, and here she was, offering herself up to me. I realized it was just the grief and loneliness, but I felt it, too. I wanted something, someone to take that pain away, so I let my body take over.
I parted my lips and felt Katy’s tongue sweep along them, first the top, then the bottom, before her teeth nipped it, and she sucked my lip between her own. My hands started at her waist and smoothed up her body, along her ribs, and around her back, pulling her in tight. I felt her fingers weave through my hair. She pulled then pushed, indecisive, yet in need. Our breathing grew hectic and heavy, and our hands drifted over body parts they’d never before dared to touch.
She gasped when my hand slipped under her rumpled t-shirt and took hold of her breast. Can’t say I hadn’t ever dreamed of doing that. And just as I had always suspected, it filled my hand perfectly. Katy’s knees nearly buckled when I ran my thumb over her nipple then took it between my fingers, rotating it gently, slowly.
She pulled her mouth from mine and let her head loll back, the perfect opening to explore her neck with my mouth. She drew into my body, allowing herself to feel and be overwhelmed, yet succumbing to her sorrow at the same time, and sobbing into my shoulder. She clawed at my jacket and tore it from my body then pushed my t-shirt up over my head in one swift movement. I felt her nails rake across my back, reasonably sure she’d drawn blood. I hissed through my teeth and threw my head back, but Katy didn’t stop.
She ripped open the button and zipper on my jeans and slid her hand inside my shorts. Again, I inhaled sharply, only this time, I groaned afterwards as her fingers found and wrapped themselves around me, squeezing with just the right amount of pressure.
It was almost too much, too unexpected, too emotional. I feared completely losing control. I grabbed for her hand and tried to pull back, but Katy used my momentum and pushed me onto my bed. Her lips found mine once again, biting, sucking, kissing, everything she could do to keep me in the moment. And God, it worked.
My hands behaved of their own accord and pushed her t-shirt over her head, then her sweatpants down over her hips, taking her delicate lace panties with it. She cast everything aside and flipped her hair over her shoulder, then sat astride me, her gaze pinned to mine, her eyes heavy with both passion and grief. Her movement slow and deliberate, Katy slid off my lap and onto the floor, tugging my jeans and briefs as she went, peeling them off after removing my shoes and socks.
Her hands moved languidly from my ankles to my knees and up the inside of my thighs before laying claim to the very essence of me, first with her hands, stroking and squeezing, then with her mouth, torturing me with her tongue and her teeth, sucking and pulling while her hand stroked up and down. And just when I thought I couldn’t take it any more, I pulled up on her head and bucked beneath her practiced hands. She jumped up and straddled me once again, using her hand to guide me into the deepest part of her.
Her slick flesh enveloped me in a warmth so tight and wet, I thought I would explode into a million pieces. I groaned like I was about to die, and my hands twisted the rumpled bed sheets. But then Katy held still for the briefest of moments, her hands on my chest and her hair cascading like a waterfall over her shoulders and down her bare breasts.
I reached for my forehead, overcome with my need to release. I looked up at Katy, and, at first, thought I saw the smallest of smiles turn up the right side of her mouth, but it was too brief, and I couldn’t be sure. She started moving against me once more, her motion controlled and with a purpose. Her flesh tightened hard around the length of me, pulsing in a frantic rhythm with each measured thrust. I couldn’t take it. I covered my face with my hands and tried to think of something else, anything but the blessed torment this woman was putting me through.

As Sam starts to open her heart to Mark, she convinces herself that the past should stay in the past. But when her past creeps into the present, her secrets could cost her every hope and happiness in her future.

Promise Me is the third book in the Trust Series.

Christina's Review:

I LOVED THIS BOOK!! I LOVE this series!! I am pissed it is over, and I am in a bit of denial to say the least! Just when I thought Wales was the greatest man EVER, Mark swoops in and takes a piece of my heart! Oh wait, I am not in this book am I? Okay fine then he swoops in and captures Sam's heart!! Better?

Sam has issues that her best friend Allison doesn't even have a clue about. She knows Sam has some dark secrets, but no idea what they are or why Sam won't let a man get closer than a one night stand. So when Same meets Mark and goes back to him a few times for some late night fun, she knows she has to guard her heart and not get attached.

Mark is the quarterback of Wale's football team. When he meets Sam he knows he wants more than just a physical relationship. However, the slightest move scares her and he has his work cut out for him. They say good things come to those who wait. The question is, how long will Mark wait for Sam, and will Sam lower the walls guarding her heart to let this sexy hunk of a football player in?

Oh Damien how I LOVE you, but Mark swooned my panties off!! He is so strong, patient, understanding and everything else I could ever want in a man! I mean Sam....Everything Sam could want or need in a man!! Sam may be stubborn, but she is not an idiot!! Their story melted my heart! One minute I was swooning over Mark, and the next I was cracking up at Damien with his obsession of Ali's safety! Sam's personality and love for driving Damien nuts is by far my fave dynamic in this book! If you have not read this series yet, then get on it and start with Trust Me!! This is an easy 5 stars right here, and I refuse to believe that this group will not end up on my kindle in some way, shape, or form in the near future!

I received a couple of catcalls as my body moved to the music. I knew the best thing was to always ignore them as I let the music take me over. My hips swayed, and my hands went up in the air. The third song started playing, and a light gleam of sweat coated my skin. Some unwanted bodies had tried to get close to me, but I knew how to keep my distance from strangers without losing my rhythm. It was freeing. I was lost in the beat when familiar hands came around my front. I knew it was Mark.

His mouth came to my ear. “Hey. Wanna dance?”

Mark pulled me to him. Our bodies joined, and we began moving together. His head came down and kissed the exposed part of my neck, and I tilted to the side to give him full access. The crowd had thickened and was pressing in on us. The pulse of the music drove us. We moved until we were both a hot mess, and neither one of us had said a word through multiple songs of the most hip-grinding, dirty dancing I had ever done.

After nibbling on my earlobe, Mark said, “Let’s say bye to the boys, and then I’m taking you home. I think all these assholes got the picture of whose bed you belong in.”

Turning to face him, I kissed him hard as his hands stroked my back. His leg went between my legs, and we started moving again. Our hot tongues danced with each as our bodies moved as one. We were both sweaty and hot. We were about to be a sexual explosion out here if we didn’t leave soon.

Pulling back barely, our lips still touching, I responded, “Now, all the girls who were hanging around, hoping for a shot with you, know who you’re taking to bed tonight.”

He grabbed my ass, bringing me closer to him, and it only increased my sexual need for him.

Mark bit my lip and then said, “I like you a little jealous. Let’s go before I lose my remaining bit of self-control.”
